Preserving Your Family History

Genealogists of all levels of experience will love our work. We transcribe written records and oral history. Research assistance available.

It is a privilege for Words To Remember to assist our clients with the preservation of their family history by transcribing letters, oral and written memoirs, diaries, poems and stories.

Each heirloom is treated with care and discretion; gloves are worn every time we handle the originals to protect them from the naturally occurring oil in our skin which, over time, hastens deterioration. We do not disclose any kind of information regarding you or the contents of the work we are doing for you unless you have responded to a formal request from us. Our clients reserve the right to decline our requests - the safety of your documents and your privacy are our first priorities.

Acid free paper, ink, binding, display and storage materials are used to give you a long lasting record to keep alongside your originals.

At your request we will do the research required to verify spellings, places, names or references to people, places, things and events that may be vanishing into obscurity and we will provide the results of our findings along with the completed work.

If you are searching for a gift to mark a milestone or trying to think of the perfect souvenir for your next family reunion. consider these ideas but please remember that these projects do take time so start preparing early.

Due to our policy regarding privacy we are unable to provide samples of completed work but we have obtained permission from a few of our clients to list the types of transcription we have undertaken on their behalf.

· Diaries kept by a World War One Veteran while he was overseas.

· Letters written by a World War Two Veteran while he was overseas.

· Diaries recording the daily life of a rural family during the depression years.

· Family Births, Marriages and Deaths faithfully recorded in a family bible since 1855.

· A collection of poems written by a Grandmother during her life.

· Hand written recipes and home remedies, a treasure handed down through the generations from Mother to Daughter.

· Tape recorded memoirs of a Grandfather for his Grandchildren.

· A Family History tracing the Paternal Line from 1799 to 2004.

This is a perfect way to keep the thoughts, dreams and memories of those who have come before us alive and preserves their experiences and knowledge for the enlightenment and use of future generations.
